Brightoil’s Marine Transportation Services – Brightoil Shipping Service Company (BOSS), a subsidiary of the Group
On behalf of the Group, BOSS owns and operates a fleet of nine modern oil tankers with total capacity in excess of 2,000,000 DWT. Our vessels ranges from bunker supply tankers with capacity of 7,000 DWT to state-of-the-art Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with capacity of 318,000 DWT.
Every vessel in the Brightoil fleet is fitted with a Mass Flow Meter which enables us to measure and manage bunker consumption more effectively. Early in 2014, BOSS was awarded a Document of Compliance (DOC) by China Classification Society (CCS) which entitles us to directly provide both technical and crew manning services and BOSS will enter this next phase in our development by managing these activities on our bunker tanker.
Our customers include major oil companies, international trading companies, independent refiners and national oil companies. In BOSS we are especially proud of the strategic relationships that we have built with China’s state-owned energy enterprises and see this as a further demonstration of the Group’s long-term commitment to meet China’s growing energy demand.
Looking to the future, BOSS will continue to grow and strengthen its role as an important link in the integrated supply chain in support of the Group’s expanding global activity. As this activity will increasingly involve gas, it is likely that BOSS will also extend its coverage by adding LNG vessels to our fleet in support of China’s increasing import demand. In those instances where we don’t have our own vessel available for Group cargoes, our fully owned subsidiary Brightoil Universal Shipping provides chartering services and employs third party vessels to handle these requirements.
